I haven't read the SARANTIUM books, but all the others I remember reading--FIONAVAR, TIGANA, AL-RASSAN, YSABEL, and UNDER HEAVEN--have a fair amount of violence. Now, it's something that isn't treated casually, which I think is one of Kay's many positive attributes as a writer, but it's fairly intense when it does appear.
