Yeah. I chose 100 books, and would have managed it apart from ending up in hospital in November and losing all ability to concentrate on reading. I managed 92. List is in my Journal.
I'm trying to get my mother to either read The Crimson Petal and the White or watch the mini-series I just got on DVD (with Romola Garai as Sugar) - but your comments are making me hesitate a bit, especially since she once started it and commented on the sex as well. I found the book incredible, with the explicit sex only a matter of course considering it was about a prostitute, but I guess people more sensitive to that might see it differently... and the mini-series is faithful enough to the book that it's comparable there.
I really need to get around to Alice in Wonderland, besides a few other titles in your list that I'll bump up some on my mental list (The Dervish House, The Anubis Gate, Ragnarok, Barchester Towers). Shame that you didn't like Sons and Lovers so much, I loved that one as well. You probably shouldn't read The Rainbow, then, if you haven't yet.

As the year progressed I didn't follow it as much, but I got most of them one way or another.
