For the first half of the year I read a lot of history, and of that mix the best by far was Comanche Empire. Along slightly different lines, Son of the Morning Star was a really amazing read, unlike anything else on history that I have encountered. Really glad I picked up that one.

Along other lines, I finally got around to reading The Grapes of Wrath. I've been into Steinbeck for a while and I really loved this book. For other fiction, I read a couple Graham Greene novels again this year and love-love-LOVED The Comedians. That man...
