Bought from amazon.fr in 2011: 26 books
Bought from amazon.de in 2011: 63 books
Bought from amazon.it in 2011: 19 books
Bought from amazon.ca in 2011: 2 books
Bought from amazon.com in 2011: 41 books
Bought from renaud-bray in 2011: 1 book
Bought from Folio Society in 2011: 16 books
Gifts: 4 books
TOTAL: 172 books purchased in 2011
Granted, most of this, as you can see, was the result of adding French and German books to my library (and some Italian ones), and if one takes away that influx I would be at about 60 books. Even then, the Folio books were books that I had been thinking about buying for a while. As with Eisenbrauns, my favorite bookseller for books on the Ancient World, I have exhausted Folio's catalogue in terms of books I want.
I really have done that for most of the other sites, too. I'm not going to vow not to buy books, but I am confident my 2012 purchases will be under 15. I went on a buying spree of the classics in other languages and there are only a few books I am toying with buying (Volumes 1-4 and 16-18 of Jung's complete works, since that's all I'm missing, a Stefan Zweig novel, a Remarque novel, and perhaps some Zola).

Political correctness is the pettiest form of casuistry.

Nothing, I'm afraid. Nor did I buy any (well, not since a couple weeks ago, anyway).

I first read them about 15 years ago, probably more. I just love them and like to reread.
