I've known you a number of years now (11, for the record). In particular, I know you have a decidedly "different" sense of humor that doesn't always come across as such... and while I freely admit that the majority of modern epic fantasies don't appeal to me, I'm left wondering how much of this comment was simply for your own entertainment, and how much was snide dismissal.
