It's certainly the shortest. While This Side of Paradise is seen as too slow and tentative, I think it's a much more personal novel, and The Beautiful and Damned has much more of a "New York" feel than Gatsby, even though Gatsby is touted as "New York" novel. In any event, Tender is the Night is certainly his masterpiece.
