Anyone have any idea which of these are any good? If I am going to buy something for this I want it to be good...*paging larry...Mr. Intelligent Book Reviewer to the rescue*
Sarah Monette, Jesse Bullington, Octavia Butler, Storm Constantine, Kelley Eskridge, Nalo Hopkinson, Ursula Le Guin and Catherynne Valente are all very good.
And I've heard good things about Christopher Barzak and Caitlin Kiernan.
Wait there was a LeGuin novel on that list...?? Didn't see that one. Hmm wonder if it is one I have read, that is definitely something I can buy. I have never read a Le Guin that wasn't at least interesting (though I disagreed a good bit with the dispossed thematically it was written very well and was quite interesting)
EDIT: oh thats right the left hand of darkness...though not sure you can count that one really as the idea is that gender does not exist biologically so how can you be a lezbian if gender does not exist? Have not read the telling though so may check that out...i wonder if she has commented on this yet on her website bet not..*goes to check her website* nope but she seems to have a blog titled to save free enterprise books must die.....to bad she didn't comment on her book being included she can be quite entertaining when she gets upset. Her "discussion" on the sci-fi channel's interpretation of Earth Sea was most interesting.
