Christopher Priest's new book is easily my most eagerly-awaited novel of the last five years.

It's been nine years since his previous novel, THE SEPARATION, which was the best SF novel of the 2000s. THE ISLANDERS sounds even more baroque, bizarre and surreal. Looking forward to it immensely.
At the interview linked below he also reveals it won't be another decade for his next book. In fact, he's already nearly finished THE ADJACENT (which I suspect will be out in late 2011) and is planning to start another, THE MARINERS, soon.
