An author proposes a book or short story and posts on the site. Readers come along and if they like an idea and want to see it turn into an actual book, they can pledge money at different levels. The minimum is £10 and for that you get a first hardback edition of the book when/if it is published. Higher amounts yield larger benefits. From the site:
- If we hit the target number of supporters, the author can go ahead and start writing (if the target isn't met you can either get your pledge refunded in full or switch your pledge to another Unbound project).
Interesting idea. There is already a book by Terry Jones that is fully supported and scheduled to be published in October. What do you think of the idea?
