I know absolutely nothing about this prophecy or who AA is supposed to be, whose prophecy that is, etc. Apparently it's one of those things I just read and didn't care much about. So, from this ignorant point of view:

"When the red star bleeds and the darkness gathers, Azor Ahai shall be born again amidst smoke and salt to wake dragons out of stone."

Why does this remind me of the funeral pyre that gave birth to Dany's dragons? Wasn't there a phenomenon in the sky at that point? Can't remember. Smoke = funeral pyre, salt = Dany's tears. Dragons out of stone = well, you get the idea.

Dany fits all of the signs as well, and personally, I think she fits it better. The only thing I'm sure of is that Stannis is not AA, if for no other reason than Mel thinks he is.
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
