What does Gary Sueism mean?
I didn't see him as dark in the first book, just desperate. For the most part he only resorted to violence when he was backed into a corner. He goes looking for trouble in the next book.
I too thought the Adem were a bit trite, but there were some interesting passages. I particularly enjoyed the "man-mothers" segment, as well as seeing Kvothe bested repeatedly by a ten-year-old girl.

I love the series, and was surprised to learn how much is happening behind the scenes so far.

While I love the frame story, I do want to see what happens now that Kvothe has "broken the world."

I liked the book, but the events felt a bit... disconnected. Like a bunch of short stories
