Libraries are great, but I could never subsist entirely off of them. For instance, this month I read Brandon Sanderson's works. No way I could pull that off with a library; I'd have to wait weeks between each book, if the library carried it at all.

If I lived in a smaller city, I might feel that way. The system here works for me though. I'm currently reading The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson. I was indeed on a waiting list for it for a few weeks, but I can always find other books that I enjoy in the interval. Besides, my local libraries' selection may be limited when compared with, say, amazon.com, but they still have far more books than I would ever be able to read.

Sometimes books are worth the price. :P

Of course you're right here too. I very rarely buy books, but sometimes they really are worth it.
