1. Who are you favourite SF/F characters?
Paul from Otherland,
Tyrion from ASIAF,
Snape from HP.
1.a What makes them so good?
They feel real. They have flaws and virtues. It is easy to feel and cheer for them.
In Snape's case it's the uncertainty of his allegiance and how he's an asshole even when he's good.
2. Who are your favourite Other Literature characters?
hmm, drawing a blank here currently, sorry.
3. What do you think is the most important part of writing a character?
They have to cause a reaction in the reader, you gotta love or hate them. They have to the round characters with good and bad sides. I particularly like turncloaks and characters that aren't that easy to figure out.
4. Who do you think is particularly bad at writing characters?
I can't say I could relate much to anyone on "Strange and Norrell", which was my main reason to be somewhat disappointed in that book.
5. In any literature, which is more important to you: story or characters?
I'd have to say the combination, they only work together.

Yeah, Nynaeve throws an awful lot of hissy fits, even when the Forsaken are after them.
