Have you read anything by Eddings?
Yes. Read the Belgariad, the Mallorean, and the Sparhawk books. Tried The Redemption of Althalus and couldn't make it through.
If yes, how long ago did you (first) read it/them?
Twenty or so years ago. I read the first three WoT books and was looking for something else in the genre.
Do you reread?
I've re-listened on audiobook. I like to have a book going when I'm doing home improvement jobs and the like.
What's your favourite of his series?
Probably the Belgariad. The Mallorean is perhaps better-written, but it's too much like a repeat of the first series.
Favourite character?
Hmmm... probably Beldin, maybe Drosta, but none of the characters are particularly meaty.
Are the Elenium and Tamuli set in a version of Earth? Or is it a version of the world of the Belgariad and Mallorean?
Neither. It just seems like a version of the Belgariad world because Eddings tended to keep rehashing versions of the same idea.

No. Never cared to read it, since I rarely read epic fantasies until 13-14 years ago. *NM*

I read one of his books when I was in about seventh grade.

If you're remembering sex scenes, odds are it wasn't an Eddings book. *NM*

I really liked the first two series but his style got really stale after that *NM*

Horrible, horrible writer. One of the worst I've ever had the misfortune to read. *NM*

Makes me feel a lot better about the 18 years I've been reading them.
