Have you read anything by Eddings?
Yes. The Belgariad, Malloreon, Elenium, Tamuli, and the Redemption of Althalus
If yes, how long ago did you (first) read it/them?
I read most of them while in high school, sometime in the early 90s.
- Do you reread?
I reread the Begariad sometime in 96 or 97. I once thought about rereading the Malloreon, but I was unable.
- What's your favourite of his series?
Probably The Belgariad or The Malloreon
- Favourite character?
Maybe Silk or Bel'din
- Are the Elenium and Tamuli set in a version of Earth? Or is it a version of the world of the Belgariad and Mallorean?
If no, why not?
If no, why not?
I think the Elenium is set in its own fantasy world, although the story seems like almost a carbon copy of the Belgariad. In fact, that is the reason I don't read his stuff anymore. After reading The Redemption of Althalus, which was also the same story told in a condensed and nearly unreadable form, I can't read any of his stuff anymore. That includes rereading the Malloreon, a series I enjoyed the first time.

No. Never cared to read it, since I rarely read epic fantasies until 13-14 years ago. *NM*

If you're remembering sex scenes, odds are it wasn't an Eddings book. *NM*

I really liked the first two series but his style got really stale after that *NM*

Horrible, horrible writer. One of the worst I've ever had the misfortune to read. *NM*

Makes me feel a lot better about the 18 years I've been reading them.
