I assure you, the comparison was strictly for the uninitiated. I started Traumnovelle today. The first page was, oddly enough, harder than the rest of the first chapter. It just had some very convoluted sentences. However, after I finish that I'm going back to Hesse to read something else of his. I can't decide, though: I have Unterm Rad, Der Steppenwolf and Das Glasperlenspiel. Which do you think would be the best to read?
