is so slow. Is it worth it to finish? I'm about halfway there. The Edur are so boring and the Letherii confuses me. This is supposed to be set in a time before the Malazans. My brain is somehow stuck with the notion of pre-medieval times. I know that the Letherii and Edur have somehow evolved to this point but my brain doesn't accept it having some sort of advanced civilization because of how its set.
"A time before the Malazans", not really - it's set somewhere around the same time as GotM, so that Trull Sengar can end up where we found him in early House of Chains. So hardly pre-medieval times. And yeah, the technology isn't really advanced, but the economic system is, it's a bit confusing.
Anyway, the reason why I chug along is because of Tehol and Bugg. I hope their scenes don't get old too fast.
They do have awesome scenes. But Midnight Tides is like all Erikson books - the action speeds up in the latter half with a huge climax at the end.

I hope it does. I'd hate to stop reading the series because of this book. *NM*

If you stop reading the series because of that book, you won't miss much in the later ones.

Yup, it picks up the second half. I liked it myself but it did take me a while to read. *NM*
