I read some of the longest books ever published last year, and there were two six-week periods when I just couldn't read anything, so I think getting to 25 was an achievement. That counts Gibbon's Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire as one book (not six, which is how many volumes it was broken into in my edition) and Shelby Foote's Civil War trilogy as one, not three. Otherwise, I guess I made it to 32.
It was originally published as six volumes over twenty years, if memory serves. I finished the final volume yesterday evening. Funny how closely my reactions were to what you posted about each volume months ago. That fifth volume was nigh useless.

I, er, didn't. Nor did I keep a list, so no idea how many I read.
