So...my survey is as follows:

1. Do you read non-fiction on a regular basis? If so, what do you typically read?

I usually have one going on in the background. I enjoy non-fiction, but I do find that it takes me absolute ages to read, even when I'm interested in the topic. It's usually some sort of history or language book when I do.

2. Do you enjoy (whether you have read it recently or not) any of the following categories of books?

- history

Yep.

- biography

Depends on the biography, but often yes.

- religion

Generally no.

- world cultures

Yes, and can I include travel in here too?

- science and mathematics

Only if they are not too technical. And books about animals are particularly interesting to me.

- political theory

Nope. Would put me to sleep in seconds.

- philosophy

Same as political theory.

- art and architecture (including film and TV)

Haven't tried any.

- psychology

Again, haven't tried any, but my guess would be no on that.

- literary criticism

Only for literature courses. With a few notable exceptions, I find it quite dry.

3. What is your favorite work of non-fiction (please exclude religious/devotional works from this question)?

I can't say I have one. Usually whichever one I'm reading at the time, honestly.

4. Would you be interested in reviews of non-fiction books on this site?

I would. They might inspire me to pick up a few more.

5. Have you read any non-fiction book recently that was terrible? If so, what?

Not that I recall.

6. Was there a non-fiction book that you read that changed the way you thought or felt about world issues (again, please exclude religious and devotional works from this question) ?

About world issues? No. Specific ones have opened up my eyes to new topics, or old topics that I realized I knew less about than I thought I did.

7. Do you consider books about the occult to be non-fiction or fiction? Why?

As others have said, I'd consider them non-fiction if the author considers them to be.

8. In your personal library at home, what percentage of your books are non-fiction?

I'd say somewhere between 10 and 30, depending on if you are counting the university texts I can't bear to get rid of.
