Hey Rafonauts
A few questions for you on your reading habits.
1 - Approximately how many books do you read in the average month?
Used to be 3 or 4, started watching Stargate SG1 and plaing hockey, so more like 1-2, porbably will go back up once I catch up on SG1
2 - Of those books, what ratio would be Sci-fi/Fantasy compared with Not SFF? (Ie SFF:NotSFF)
All. Infinite, to give a mathematical answer.
3 - (with credit to Tom) Which of these do you read:
Fantasy
Sci-fi
Short stories (please specify what genre they might belong to) occasionally: sci-fi/fantasy
Magazines- Scientific American and Zymurgy
4 - Do you read every day?
Pretty much. Again, unless hockey or tv get in the way, but usually find 1/2 to 1 hour at least for reading
5 - Do you find it easy to discuss the books you read?
not usually, but i'm working on that
5a - If not, do you know what might make it easier?
I usually feel like others have already posted anything relevant that I might have to say
6 - Do you buy books as soon as they are published?
Often, but a lot on my list has already been out. I will always preorder Sanderson, ASoIaF, Erikson, Abercrombie, Lynch,
Rothfuss, Esslemont, Bakker
7 - What do you like to see in reviews?
What the book is about! How it relates to others of the authors works, why it is good/bad. I have passed after reading positive reviews and bought based on negative but well done reviews
I hope this thread helps to get other habitual lurkers to post! I usually lurk because I don't feel like I have anything to add to the existing discussion, but I am trying to make a post each time I log in to the new site to do my part to make it a success.
This originally said *NM but had my input attached, so I hope by editing it will indicate an actual reply.
