Hey Rafonauts
A few questions for you on your reading habits.
1 - Approximately how many books do you read in the average month?
40-50
2 - Of those books, what ratio would be Sci-fi/Fantasy compared with Not SFF? (Ie SFF:NotSFF)
About half and half these days, depending on how you define "SF"
3 - (with credit to Tom) Which of these do you read:
Fantasy
Sci-fi
Historical Fiction
Classics
Thrillers
Crime/Mystery
Other fiction stuff (like Ian McEwan, Kazuo Ishiguro etc)
Non-fiction
Graphic Novels
Manga
Plays
Poetry
Short stories (please specify what genre they might belong to)
Magazines
Newspapers
All but the thrillers over the past few months. Thinking about reviewing The Atlantic's recent fiction issue, which is mostly realist short stories. But I'll also be reading a lot of SF/F/H/"weird" stories as well shortly. Next year, I'll be reading hundreds of them.
4 - Do you read every day?
Pretty much, unless I crash after work.
5 - Do you find it easy to discuss the books you read?
I have a fairly popular blog
5a - If not, do you know what might make it easier?
6 - Do you buy books as soon as they are published?
Sometimes - sometimes I receive them before they are published
7 - What do you like to see in reviews?
I've gone off on length on this topic on the OF Blog over the past few years, so let's just say I like reviews similar to my style of writing them
Thanks.
