Leroux wrote his book 100 years ago, in French. Most likely the italics weren't his, they were added later by publishers, translaters, etc. It's difficult to categorically state that is his style.

It's fairly obvious it's Dan Browns, however, if his newer books have it too.


However my point was that Camilla had never even noticed italics Leroux at all. So it is not the use of italics which annoyed her, it was instead - Dan Brown's use of italics
