1 - Approximately how many books do you read in the average month?

Currently it's only about one. It would be much, much more if I had any willpower.

2 - Of those books, what ratio would be Sci-fi/Fantasy compared with Not SFF? (Ie SFF:NotSFF)

I'm trying to re-read KoD, so this is skewed now. Usually it's a very low SFF.

Fantasy

Uber-picky after Jordan. Not many, but since I am planning to start Kay, I expect this to change. (Your board did that too me, btw.)

Sci-fi

Uber-picky again, I like Banks, Herbert.

Historical Fiction

Lot of these

Classics

And these. Much of my fiction reading is in the classics.

Thrillers

Not many.

Crime/Mystery

Not many.

Other fiction stuff (like Ian McEwan, Kazuo Ishiguro etc)

I can say I love these, given that you listed two awesome authors.

Non-fiction

Fair amount.

Graphic Novels

Not many

Manga

Not many

Plays

Have a bunch, don't read them much.

Poetry

Have tons of older favorites. Don't look into modern poetry.

Short stories (please specify what genre they might belong to)

I love short stories, and genre doesn't matter. If I don't like them, I still get a sense of accomplishment w/o feeling like I've wasted time.

Magazines

Occasionally. I get the Smithsonian and Cooking Light.

Newspapers

Online. WSJ, Economist, NYT, BBC (that counts, right?)

4 - Do you read every day?

In some way or another, even if it's just the reviews or posted articles here. Books, usually a little at night and more on the weekends.

5 - Do you find it easy to discuss the books you read?

Discuss them, yes.

5a - If not, do you know what might make it easier?

Knowing that I was expected to discuss them might make it more fun- I would concentrate more while reading.

6 - Do you buy books as soon as they are published?

Only certain authors. Half Price Books is my favorite shop, so I'd say it's more common that I don't.

7 - What do you like to see in reviews?

Em, doesn't matter? Good reviews are good reviews, regardless of genre.

Thanks.
