I haven't read any of the Rasputin biographies. Jacob Send a noteboard - 19/11/2010 08:00:07 PM
Russian/Soviet history

I am looking for some books that offer good commentary and perspective on the period from the build up to WWI probably through WWII and maybe the end of Stalin's time in office.

Have you read Edvard Radzinsky's excellent biography of Rasputin? That, I think, would give one perspective of this time. It's a really good read and dispells some of the myths surrounding Rasputin.

I do have one or two on a list at home, but I can't remember which ones off the top of my head.
