I hate this book and I'm not defending it. However, to say that there is no reason to read a book "with a moral" because you "know who you are" is incredibly stupid. Part of growing intellectually, socially and morally has to do with questioning and challenging what you believe and think on a regular basis.
One doesn't need to grow in those ways exclusively through books, though. (I haven't for a long time, thus my answer.) And that's really the only reason for j-whitt987 to read that book, since he only seems to be looking for something's that entertaining.

My friend's sister let me borrow The Grapes of Wrath. It's not my niche.

I mentioned it as one of the books I hate, so I'm not exactly unbiased.

I'm jumping on the bandwagon as well. I would go for something else instead. *NM*
