Keep ploughing through, or put it down and start from the beginning after taking a break from it. GotM is a difficult book to get through the first time, and it doesn't help that it was originally written as a screen play for a movie (which explains much of how the book is structured).

I would say as much as 80% of everyone who reads the book thinks this at first.
