Well, me not being very knowledgeable about Africa..No

The two "races" you refer to are the Tutsi and the Hutu, and if the setting is somewhat vague, it's probably because the conflict between the two groups is one that has torn large portions of Africa apart in bouts of genocide and civil war. There is no need to specify one country because many can relate to it as their own country.
I get that there was a lot in the book that I missed because I don't understand Africa. I'd be more interested in those things if the book had been more enjoyable as a story. (Which it wasn't)
I also find it mildly humorous that you actually use the term "smut" in your review. It implies that graphic sex is bad.
Nopenopenopenopenope. Won't do that mistake in the future. But glad that someone finds something humorous.

You're acting in a totally uncalled for manner. His reviews don't need to meet your specifications.

His reviews don't need to meet Larry's specifications, but Larry is also entitled to his opinion.

Yes, but then we get into the endless "well you can have an opinion, but I get one too."

So how exactly does one raise a valid concern that a review reads like a bad 5th grade book report?

I haven't read the book so can't judge all that well, but I've seen far worse reviews here.

I'd be scared to think there are those that are much worse. Is functional illiteracy that bad?
