Hate is probably too strong for most books but I really disliked House of Leaves.

I read about half of it and was so bored and uninterested that I took it back to the library (to avoid fines) and have never bothered to check it out again to finish - and I HATE not finishing something I've started. I didn't even find the concept of a story within a story withing a story to be anything special. I laughed my ass off when I found out it took him ten years to write it. I would never recommend it to anyone.
I thirded Catcher in the Rye above. An utter waste of time; I cannot figure out why people love that book or think Salinger was a good author.
I've slammed Years of Salt and Rice a few times here and on Wotmania. Just boring. So boring I couldn't even finish it. Oh, did I mention how I hate not finishing something I've started? that's how bad this book and House are.
Can't think of anything else right now.
