But iirc book four had something about how Crouch might've been Minister instead of Fudge, if not for his son - an event nearly ten years before the change of Ministers there. Doesn't make much sense, unless I'm misremembering what it said in book four.

And the articles in the Quibbler are silly, but the goblin one does stress again the tension between humans and goblins, and the problematic position of Gringotts as crucial to the human wizarding economy while being owned and run by goblins.
