Maybe I'll write out my thoughts in full later this week

I really need to get back to writing summaries of my re-reads of those books. TBH and TtH are much more important for the overall storyline than I had suspected after an initial read 2-3 years ago. But I know I'm in a minority opinion on that
I think his strongest book in the series is probably Midnight Tides... from the writing and storytelling aspect. The problem that I have post Midnight Tides is that the books themselves, the story contained within the single volume, get increasingly messy... mass PoVs moving around events, choppy plotting, less access but more things happening. It seems the books are sacrificed to move the whole... which is working on a series level, but I find each book to be less satisfying and engrossing as a singular object.
There is no denying the import of those books, or that Erikson is really working dynamic ideas and struggles through his characters. There are a lot of things to truly like about the series... I just think the books themselves, and the stories contained just between those covers, are devolving.
I'll try to address this whenever I do get around to writing the summations of those books, but I do have a lot of demands on my time. I have literally a dozen reviews I need to write by the beginning of next week and these take a backseat to the SFF Masterworks blog reviews I'm writing, a review of a Spanish novel I really should have written 2-3 weeks ago, two collections I agreed to review for an author who sent them to me, and some other projects. But at some point this year, I'll resume the Malazan Re-read posts.

Well, you've seen the books I tend to read and those are unusual in regards to dialogue quality

Elantris is a very poor example of Sanderson's work.

And I think that books 5, 6, and 8 are among Erikson's better novels
