I'm rather fond of Dashiell Hammett, but that's as much as I've really read in the genre. *NM*

As some of you might know, I work in a charity bookshop on Saturdays.
By far the greatest number of books we sell are crime books.
I thought it might be fun to take 5 or so of the "best" crime writers and compare their work to see who comes out on top in my educated estimation.
Would you find that interesting?
Or do you all pretend that you don't read crime fiction?

I have a cunning plan.

I've never read a lot of it, but that's not really due to lack of interest
