Hm. Zeeb Send a noteboard - 13/08/2010 08:19:50 AM
It's been a while since I picked it up so memory may be fuzzy but I do intend to carry on plodding with it. I find it a bit odd and scattered. It feels as though it's just skimming over the bits that could be fitted into the book - and for all it's called one of the greatest love stories ever told on the front of the book (though I wasn't really expecting this from what people had said about it here) it seems pretty rubbish to me so far. I can't remember exactly but it seemed like it took about 3 paragraphs where the two met again and had a random chat and then decided to have an affair. What? I just found it a bit annoying.

I'll see what happens in the rest of the book. I'm not sure I'm very good at reading books slowly - I'm so used to being grabbed by a book so I can't put it down, and then I know exactly what's going on. With this book it's taking me so long that I can hardly remember what's already happened. I'm not sure I could bring myself to read it again though. Oh well.
