What I would like to see, but would require some coding to be done...

Is a proper book store thing. That is, a place where you can go look at individual books, covers, rate it (one vote per username is probably good enough), and read all the reviews that have been written about it. This would however require a few things;
first of all a page setup which will allow all that.
Second, a form for submitting things into such a database... (I am of the opinion that books should be added when there is a review of them, but...)
Third: Admins who can check the books submitted and clear or delete them. (If awful spelling, or just a review that doesn't actually address the book, or if someone instead of a link to the cover provides a link to porn )
Fourth: a community which actually writes reviews.
Fifth: a link to "buy this book at amazon so the site makes cash"
sixth: some kind of blackboard (or, you know the way posting at the bug utility thing works) at each book so the reviews can be added afterwards without needing to bother admins... this should probably come with some sort of notification to certain people so non-reviews can be removed. We want to keep the place clean if we have one. Discussion can be done on the message board.
seventh: links to this section that are easy to find and follow.
This is what I would like to see, but there is a bit of work involved, so I doubt it will happen anytime soon. However, I believe some kind of reviews/bookstore section will be needed if the site is to grow, and it would have to be separate from the message board.

That's always been the dilemma, and I think/hope the compromise solution works.

Not really a suggestion, but how will the book clubs be organized?

That sounds a very good idea, both for the community, and for supporting the site various ways.

Make my threads blink. I am important and as such, deserve a blinking thread. Trim it with fire too *NM*

I'm not an expert, but that doesn't seem like it's possible atm... would be a big change in any case

I'd rather have the blinking threads trimmed in fire for my posts only. *NM*
