I personally prefer red mars, but that is a matter of interest. I am more interested in "western" culture, history and science, so therefore I am more knowledgeable on those topics than what is represented in tyoras... A certain amount of foreknowledge is required for gaining the most enjoyment.

Note that I haven't read much by KSR, so what I think is a generally acknowledged truth might just be a consequence of my perception filter. :P
