Or did everything make sense.

This was the main part that I struggled with. The basic idea of the audience having to turn over foreign currency and being encouraged to inform on their neighbours and family makes sense, obviously, but in this section, moreso than the rest of the novel I felt there was a density of references that just flew over my head.
