If I don't know if I'm going to like a book - or at least have a very good basis for believing so, like a favorite author's new work - I'll get it from the library. It's exceedingly rare even then that I don't finish a book.

Other than that, the only way this would ever happen is if I get several new books simultaneously, and I simply haven't started them all yet.
