The Great Harry Potter Re-read: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - Edit 2

Before modification by Rebekah at 02/08/2010 09:42:45 PM

Hello everyone,

I'll be taking over from Rebekah for the third installment of our Harry Potter re-read, focusing on Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, which for many people is among their favourite books in the series, I believe. Of course, for anyone who may only come to this re-read now, it is still possible to post in the earlier installments (Philosopher's/Sorcerer's Stone and Chamber of Secrets), where discussion has not yet stopped entirely.

Prisoner of Azkaban has 22 chapters - starting a trend of increasingly longer books that will culminate in Order of the Phoenix, after which Rowling decided to make the final two books a bit shorter again - and so I figure we'll tackle three chapters a day again, except for the final four chapters when we'll do two a day. That gives us the following schedule: today chapters 1-3, Thursday 4-6, Friday 7-9, next Monday 10-12, Tuesday 13-15, Wednesday 16-18, Thursday 19-20 and Friday 21-22. At some point during those last days we'll figure out if the pace is still doable for everyone, or whether we should slow it down or take a break before Goblet of Fire.

The rules remain the same as before:

- Spoilers are understood to be in all posts, it's not necessary to mention "spoilers" in the subject line, but please refrain from putting said spoilers in the subject line itself. Most people have no doubt read the series, but perhaps some haven't yet.

- As this may become a rather large thread if enough people participate, please try to put your replies in the appropriate places. And if you want to start a discussion on a topic that doesn't fit in any of the sub-threads I will create, please do it below these sub-threads and not inbetween. So hold your horses until I've had time to put up those sub-threads, alright?

- Suggestions about changing the organization of the re-read can still be posted in the sub-thread devoted to that.
