Thomas Mann YES!!! *NM* shaiel Send a noteboard - 18/07/2010 03:00:23 AM
I just returned from shopping in two different Nashville bookstores. One is a used bookstore that specializes in carrying some rather expensive tomes. I almost bought a 1900-era seven-volume set of Henry Fielding's novels for $99. I saw a History of Medicine set for $500. Some Voltaires for about $400. Alas, didn't have the money to spare for those, although I did pick up a gilt-edged, leather-bound Franklin Library edition of Thomas Mann's The Magic Mountain for a nice rate.

Oh, and I found some delightfully horrid 70s era SF novels for cheap rates, so I bought those and took pictures of those, for those who are curious.

But I'm curious: What sorts of things do you see in bookstores, particularly used bookstores and/or independents (my second stop was at Davis-Kidd, the best independent new books store in Nashville)?

P.S. There's something else about that linked post, but ignore that, please.
