I noticed that in chapter 13, when Snape surprises them lurking around, it says

he sometimes had the horrible feeling that Snape could read minds.

Which, well, yeah.

Also, werewolvs keep cropping up in passing.

It also sets up the centaurs' problem for the later books (Bad Bane vs Good Firenze).

And Snape, of course. The animosity for James Potter and Dumbledore's hint that James once saved him (which will be given from Snape's point of view later).
