About a quarter of the way into this and I'm not feeling it so far. I'm a big Mieville fan, think everything he's done so far is excellent, but the writing in KRAKEN is just confused and turgid compared to what I normally expect from him. No wonder Macmillan put it back a year in favour of the far superior CITY AND THE CITY.
Hopefully it'll pick up soon. If not, I'll ditch it for a few days to read Kay's UNDER HEAVEN instead.
