Hi guys. I really need your help for two research papers I'm writing on wotmania. This is part one. If you could take five minutes and fill out this survey, it would be incredibly helpful.

-What is your race?

i'm of nothern european (scots/irish mostly), aka "white"

-Do you think that there is an explicit hierarchy at wotmania? If so, how does it break down?

yea, of course there is. in any group as large and diverse as this one, you'll have a hierachy. and the one here is pretty clearly known. well, you have the "elder" admins at the top, then the "elders", then the newer admins and some "upper" midbies together, then the midbies, then the "unknowns", and finally the newbies. of the newbies, you have the newbies who are just new and then you have the annoying ones on the bottom.

-Do you believe that there is a hierarchy at wotmania, but it isn’t officially noted by anyone? If so, how does this hierarchy break down?

its noted by everyone, even if they won't admit it.

-Do the terms Elder, Midbie, and Newbie actually mean anything for a person, or is it just a title that establishes how long someone has been at the site?

it CAN mean something to/for people. if i was called, in a serious way, a "newbie", i'd not be pleased. but other than that, nah, they don't mean much to me. as for others, i think some can get an ego-boost by being considered an elder or midbie.

-Do you think that the admins on the site are in higher standing than the other members?

the site admins are. i'm not so sure about the chat admins, except in chat. as for the RPG ones.....nah.

-In your opinion, do those who post on the Community MB think that they are “better” than those on the WoT MB?

some do, most certainly. i'm not sure if comm posters are "better", but i think those who post only on the WOT mb are missing out. both on interesting discussions and

they may, i don't know. if they do, they're stupid.

Frankly, I don't know why anybody listens to actors about anything other than acting. Since when does the ability to fake emotions on cue like a sociopath make one an expert on anything?
