It's had problems, but most of them are due to a certain someone subjecting it to abuse above and beyond the spectrum of the ordinary. Oh, and it came with Windows ME, which blows.
It only cost me $750, and the only thing I've really needed to do to improve it (which I still haven't done) is add more RAM. It's not fancy as far as bells and whistles, but it does the job. And it came with a kick-ass warranty.
(Confidentially to all the people who have heard me bitch and moan about Lag, it's cos I'm still on caveman dial-up. )
Do I recommend it? [Shrugs] It hasn't been a bad deal. I could have spent a lot more and gotten something faster and fancier, but I mostly use it for internet and work/school, which equates to papers and spreadsheets. Think about what you need to use your computer for. I imagine that's really going to be the determining factor. I'm no computer geek, but I'm good at making do with what I have to work with, and $750 was WAY better than $1500!
