So. Erikson. Take a stab at it. How do you think this series is going to end. I personally have no clue. But this I know, it will be smokin'. The last book in this series (isn't it 10?) is going to burn down the house. Why? Because it's not in Erikson to fade quietly into the night... like... uh... some others. Thoughts? Coupons? Money to lend?
So many threads to bring together, so many.
Mr. Rake is going to have a big battle against any number of bad persons, and may be lead sword against the Crippled God. Mr. God loses big-time, but knowing Erikson, Mr. Rake joins him in a coffee with Hood. The big Toblakai will be there fighting alongside with Rake.
This is supposed to be an exploration of the perils of the Paran family (remind me where they were in Midnight Tides?) so we can safely assume that Tavore will end up as boss of the Empire, or dead. Ganoes helps out with the Crippled God.
Kellanved comes clean, and we find out for sure that his "assassination" was simply a ploy. Whether Laseen survives is a moot point.
Forget the Crippled God Shoot-out at the OK Corral. Knowing Erikson, he will get that guy iced by a passing Assail, just before the Cavalry arrive.
So...in the end....exit Crippled God. Everything else? Shadow makes a grab for power, a number of favourites get iced, we learn a lot more about the Empire and Kellanved's original crew and what really happened. Kruppe remains Kruppe. A few more glaring problems get a solution, such as a nice home for the Edur.
