Do you ever say or heard any of your countrymen say anything remotely close to your country being the Strongest Country in the World?

Nope. Quite the contrary. British people if anything tend to play down British strength.

I was wondering that last night when someone mentioned about how they didn't care what the President did (i.e. Clinto & Lewinsky), as long as he does his job. He's the leader of the most powerful nation on earth for God's sake!

What Clinton did was unimportant. Tha fact that he lied about it (under oath?) is important.
