Hi guys. I really need your help for two research papers I'm writing on wotmania. This is part one. If you could take five minutes and fill out this survey, it would be incredibly helpful.

-What is your race?
Caucasian.

-Do you think that there is an explicit hierarchy at wotmania? If so, how does it break down?
No, I don't, other than Admins and plebes.

-Do you believe that there is a hierarchy at wotmania, but it isn?t officially noted by anyone? If so, how does this hierarchy break down?
See above. I don't think there really is a hierarchy. It's like high school; there's the popular crowd, the crowd everyone knows and likes, the crowd that goes around pissing everyone off, the crowd who centres their lives on _____, and so on and so forth. I'd say there are cliques rather than a hierarchy, I guess. With a hierarchy, the implication is levels and tiers; with cliques, there are boundaries. Does that make sense?

-Do the terms Elder, Midbie, and Newbie actually mean anything for a person, or is it just a title that establishes how long someone has been at the site?
It's really kind of a tongue-in-cheek joke, you know. The people who get called and call themselves elders are simply the people who have been around so long that they can recall the early days (to which they'll refer as "the good old days") and reminisce about the people and times from then. It's sort of a way to protect those memories, I think. Newbies... well, escaping that status is sort of like learning to walk. Lots of effort, lots of falls, and some take a lot longer than others.

-Do you think that the admins on the site are in higher standing than the other members?
Nah.

-In your opinion, do those who post on the Community MB think that they are ?better? than those on the WoT MB?
[laughs] I'm sure some do. I would venture to say there are pocketfuls of elitists, but they can be found everywhere at this site (as well as everywhere, full stop). But overall, it's a matter of preference.

-In your opinion, do those who post on the WoT MB think that they are ?better? than those on the Community MB?
Same answer as above.
