Hi guys. I really need your help for two research papers I'm writing on wotmania. This is part one. If you could take five minutes and fill out this survey, it would be incredibly helpful.
-What is your race?
Interesting... White as can be. Or Caucasian if you like.
-Do you think that there is an explicit hierarchy at wotmania? If so, how does it break down?
Hmmmm... I'd have to say the Newbie/Midbie/Elder hierarchy is explicit. But I tend to think it's more continuous than that. And of course, there are notable exceptions to it. Also you can break it down to Admin/premium accounts/free accounts, but those tend to match up with the elder/midbie/newbie sets.
-Do you believe that there is a hierarchy at wotmania, but it isn’t officially noted by anyone? If so, how does this hierarchy break down?
I suppose... I think the funnier/more visible users are afforded more respect. But I don't know if I'd call that a hierarchy.
-Do the terms Elder, Midbie, and Newbie actually mean anything for a person, or is it just a title that establishes how long someone has been at the site?
I think they do mean a little bit. It is also the other too of course, but I think the longer you've been here, the more respect you get.
-Do you think that the admins on the site are in higher standing than the other members?
Well, not all the other members, but for the most part, yes.
-In your opinion, do those who post on the Community MB think that they are “better” than those on the WoT MB?
Occasionally that is joked about, but I don't think it's a real mindset. However, I don't think everyone would disagree if I said some people regard the CMB as better than the WoT Board.
-In your opinion, do those who post on the WoT MB think that they are “better” than those on the Community MB?
Hmmmm.... Same as above, but to a much lesser extent I think. But I don't visit the WoT board as often as the CMB.
Thank you.
No, thank you! The boards were pretty dead. I was bored out of my mind.
