...you can argue that it means a different thing and so we should say "American Otaku" and "Japanese Otaku." Some people LIKE it here, use it as a badge of pride, me? I'm not hard-core enough, besides I like all GOOD animation. The problem is, most of the US TV animation is junk either in writing, or art.
That word means what it means, and simply because some teenagers get it in their mind to twist it to something else, doesnt mean it should mean that. That insults the entire society odf true Otaku who are so dedicated that many see tsunlight on a weekly, not daily, basis. But thats just me.
