I understand where you are coming from. I myself am a marxist-socialist, but sometimes the incentive for profit drives certain things I want. In this case colonization of Luna and Mars and beyond.

Okay. Here is the deal: I don't believe that we are talking about colonization here. I think we are talking about giddy little boys with an Easter wish: Oh PLEASE great Bunny give me a new ball glove for Easter.

I would much rather see a corporation make a serious attempt at space colonization. Then I would be interested because it would have a chance. Otherwise it is going to fail. The ‘50s had the Big Russian Bear as a driving force and NASA had a driving will. Now? Nothing. But if there really is money to be made let’s see some organization other than a government pony up to the bar and invest real money for the long term. Then I will believe.
