The IRS are bastards. This is a rant. You may have guessed that by now. How on earth do they make the tax forms so incomprehensible? I have absolutely no idea if I am filing correctly or not. The instructions are appallingly bad. How on earth people whose native language is not English can cope I have no idea. The instructions don’t seem to tie up with the examples they provide. I am left wondering if it is just a ploy to make pay someone to do it for me. I refuse to do that. Perhaps it is just that I am foreign and the US government seems to want to screw me at every opportunity. Are the normal forms horrendous too? Or is it just that I am a “Non-resident alien”?
I have been sent forms that I have no idea what I am supposed to do with. Anyone know what a 109T is, and what I should do with it? It says on the form that it is important tax information that the IRS need, but on every other tax form provided by the IRS they make no mention of it. Searching on their website just yields a form to download (I already have one), and a link to some software for $130. I don’t want software I want to know what to do with the bloody thing.
I thought my US visa forms were bad enough but this goes to a whole other level. The time guides are laughable. I mean I am a reasonably smart lad. I have a degree, and have good grades on my post-grad degree, and speak English, and I am stumped. Surely it could be made easier. Though I suspect they don’t want to. I’m sure they are screwing me over already, and if they made it more comprehensible I would know that they are screwing me over.
May be I should run a sweep stakes on what the buggers will do to me when they discover I haven’t done something I should of - Deport me, send me to fed jail, send me a polite letter that sort of thing.
As you can tell I’m grumpy
