our soldiers in Iraq also get to deal with the local fauna. This picture and text are accurate. There are some exaggerated claims on the net (they eat camels, they run 25 miles per hour, they are poisonous). A six to seven inch specimen that runs 10 miles per hour on sand is bad enough that you don't need to embellish to creep people out. I know some guys who would rather face an army of terrorists than a couple of these....

SHUDDER, I say!

Ugh...I shuddered again, just thinking about it!

10 mph is dang fast. That means that blasted spider can cover about 45 feet in right around 3 seconds.
